Forerunner 310XT wont upload without re-pairing every time

Garmin Express is driving me mad! I used to be able to sync workouts from my Forerunner 310XT with no problems but over a month ago when a new version of GE auto updated on my desktop it just refuses to upload any workouts without me going through the following (this was suggested in a post I found on a google search from another exasperated user)...
- launch Garmin Express, from drop down pick 'add new device'
- GE searches and finds another Forerunner 310XT which is 'not compatible with Express' and offers me an 'ignore button' which I press
- I go to drop down again and pick 'add new device', this time it finds another Forerunner 310XT with the same serial number as the one it already lists! I click 'add device' button
- GE starts a pairing process and I need to click the button 'I want to sync to exisiting account', I then need to put in my Garmin account logon details
- Finally GE deigns to upload my workout :(

I keep checking for newer versions of GE which may fix this bug, but after many different versions there is no solution to this nightmare (I am on the latest and greatest GE v3.2.19.0
If anyone knows of any other workarounds I would love to try them out as I am on the point of ditching Garmin forever and getting something else that is easier and reliable to upload.
(BTW I have tried the upload on 3 different computers, 2 running Win7 and one running Win8.1 and so am confident it is a GE issue)

They know it (very old bug), they don't seem to care, deal with it.

I have the same issue. Everytime I close Garmin Express and open it again, I need to remove my 310XT and add it again. I also have a Vivofit connected. When the device is connected it has kind of a 'connection icon' next to it. My 310XT is still shown in the list of devices, but the icon dissapears after closing GE...

Secondly, since today I'm working with workouts and I noticed that I cannot download my workouts to my device... It's a shame because this GE is already available for a few months now. I would expect that bugs like these are solved quickly because these impact the features that make Garmin worthwile, right?

Hope to get help asap! I buy a new device every 2 years, and I have always been a true garmin freak. I even buy Garmin/Castelli team wear for cycling. But with the challenges I experienced the last months I not sure anymore that I will still choose Garmin...

I have the same issue. To sync new activities, I have to 'Delete Device from Express' then add it again.
Tested on Windows 7 and a fresh install of Windows 8.

Add me to the list of folks who are super frustrated with syncing 310xt w/ Express. Same as others--unable to sync unless re-pair. Ant agent sometimes works. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. What a waste of time. Someone just posted to our local cycling list serve looking for recommendations re: GPS and Garmin was certainly NOT on my list.

We are looking into an issue with the 310XT having to pair each time before being able to Sync. We are contacting users to gather data and have logs sent in to investigate this issue. For this reason you will see private messages as a response to some post. Please try and provide all the information requested by the moderators so we can get the information to the developers to determine the cause of the issue as quickly as possible.
