Nuvi 2455 usb cable problem

Mu Nuvi 2455 started showing a screen when connected to the USB cable on the PC and also when connected to the AC adaptor in the car. It does not do it when it's disconnected and running on the battery. The screen is a black background and shows a yellow PC with a device connected to a USB cable.

That's what it should do. It's showing it's in PC mode. Many AC charges put the device into PC mode, but not all.

With my nuvi's, when an AC charger puts it PC mode I just wait 30 seconds or so and the nuvi will reboot into charging/navigation mode.

That makes sense. But it's not coming out of the PC mode.

And it may not. It never does with my AC charger.

Should it be doing this when it's plugged into the cigarette lighter in the car?

If you use the cable designed to power it in the car it shouldn't go into PC mode. Perhaps I misunderstood. That isn't happening is it?

Its the cigarette adaptor that came with the unit. It worked fine for a week then the screen started coming up at random.

That shouldn't be happening. Either the cable is faulty or the socket on your nuvi. If you can then return it to the retailer.

The problem is with the charger, in my experience replacing it will solve the problem.
