Garmin Express high failure rate syncing to Garmin 800

When syncing courses to Garmin 800 the Garmin Express software loads but often the screen doesn't show any sync. Sometimes it does show but when turn Garmin 800 on the course is not there. Very frustrating! It used to work fine before the modern interface and express software came along. Wasting hours is not my idea of being productive with garmin products. Please fix this as soon as possible or roll back the changes in garmin connect!
  • When sending individual Courses from the Connect Modern Courses menu, a file is generated by connect and sent through your network to a folder on the computer then onto the New Files folder on the Edge 800.

There are 3 places where the process can get interrupted.

    • Connect generating the file
    • Transferring the file through the network
    • From the computer to the device

A failure at any one of these points can cause the Sync Failed message.
    • Keep Garmin Express up to date
    • Disable and Internet Security applications, and Firewalls.
    • Bypass the wireless network, and avoid any external USB external hubs when connecting the Edge to the computer.
    • Change the Course names to something as simple and short as possible. Remove any special characters such as \ % ? etc..

I have been testing the Edge 800 and 810 extensively tonight to try and determine where customers could be having troubles. I found one course I have won't download but it is something in the course data that is keeping Garmin Connect from creating the file. It simply has some bad data in it. I deleted it and recreated it and it downloads with no problems.

If you would like to Share the course, paste a link for it and I can try to download it as a test.
