Garmin Express vs Windows 8.1 = I can not login.

Former Member

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to use the Garmin Express on Windows 8.1 and I can not. It locates my 910XT, but I can not login. Has an error like this: There was a problem with our servers, which means that the Express is temporarily unavailable.

In my work, using Windows 8, it works normally.

Ps: Since I disabled the Windows Firewall; desabilei anti-virus; non-proxy use.

Any idea? :confused::confused::confused::confused:
  • Did you previously use Ant Agent software with this computer? There could be some data left over from the ANT Agent that is causing the Sync problem with Garmin Express. The best thing to do is to remove the device from the Garmin ANT Agent before installing Garmin Express. Doing this will delete the ANT related files.

    Open ANT Agent software
    Click on Device menu
Select Manage Paired Devices, and select the Forerunner from the pull down menu
    Click on remove Forerunner

Once all devices are removed from the ANT Agent install the latest version of Garmin Express from http://connect.garmin.com
As a last resort performing a master reset on the Forerunner 910XT may be needed. See the FAQ: How do I master reset my Forerunner 910XT?

  • Hi... I am having the same problem here. Last week did the upgrade on windows from 8 to 8.1... and no longer my garmin express logg in.

"There was a problem with our servers, which means that the Express is temporarily unavailable."

Same error... it recognizes my 910, start de sync... but seconds after the error's message appears.

Tried to delete the device, reinstall garmin express... but when it goes to introduction, locates my device, but says that cannot connect with the servers.

On my work (win 7), everything is normal... garmin express working normally.

About the sugestion above. I didnt use the Ant Agent on this computer that got the problem.

    Any other sugestion?

    Thanks.

I am sorry that you are having trouble syncing your watch. Please try the following:
    • Make sure that the date, time and timezone are correct on your computer.
    • Temporarily disable any firewalls that may be blocking the connection.
    • If applicable, disable any VPN (Virtual Private Network) or proxy that is in use. If this is not possible, use a different computer and/or network connection.

If the issue persists, adjust the LAN settings on the computer:

    • Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard
    • Type inetcpl.cpl
    • Press Enter
    • Click the Connections tab
    • Click LAN Settings
    • Select the box "Automatically detect settings"1
    • Clear any boxes for use of a proxy server
    • Click OK
    • Click OK again to close the Internet Options window

  • Thanks Jason... problem resolved. Brazil is in summertime but my city didnt follow... so i had to change manually the clock to get the right time here. Just put back to the Brasilia time and it worked.

    Thanks again.
