  • If you have tried all of the suggestions in the following FAQ: http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={68b703a0-2275-11e4-eaba-000000000000}&kbName=garmin and do not have another computer to try I would suggest calling into our Customer Support center for further trouble-shooting.

  • Hello,

I also am having an install issue. In my case I launch Garmin Express, it says it needs a required update. I have no other option but to continue. It starts the update and fails looking for a resource that it can not find "C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\{AF70DD30-65E4-482A-816B-14EA986B9F7A}v3.1.8.0\". Also Garmin does not show in programs and features for uninstall. I have opened a support case. Now just waiting on a response.
  • Support sent me this:
Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I will be happy to help you with this. The message indicates a problem uninstalling a previous version of Garmin Express before the new version can be installed.

Having a previous version of the applications install files on the computer can cause the .msi or standard uninstall error when updating. Use the Microsoft Fixit utility to correct the error.

    Go to the webpage: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/1
Click the green Run now button
Click Accept in the License Agreement
Follow the provided instructions to select and uninstall the particular application
    When uninstalling Garmin Express select:
    Garmin Express
    Garmin Express Tray
    Elevated Installer
Garmin Update Services (skip if not present)

Once the Microsoft Fixit utility is complete:

Install Garmin Express from its product page: http://software.garmin.com/express.html

This should resolve the issue when installing Garmin application updates.

This software is 3rd party and not created by Garmin. The software is Licensed and created by Microsoft.

This did resolve my issue. Fast response and clear steps to resolve.

    Thanks Timothy
