Garmin Express not working with Edge 500.

Hi,

I have just installed the latest version of Garmin Express (3.2.16.0), I wasn't using it previously just downloading via the old web interface. When I try and connect to my Edge 500 (Version 3.30) and hit get started I receive a message saying;
Device Found
Edge 500
Serial Number: (No serial shown)
This device is not compatible with Express

The only option is to ignore or Scan Again.

I have run the web updater and it confirms my edge the latest version.

I have run Express as System Administrator but this has not helped.

Running Windows 7.

Any suggestions?

What is the serial number from the back of the Edge?

I was able to test the Edge's compatibility with Express and had no problem. There might an issue with some corrupt data on the device itself. I suggest a master reset on the device. Please see the FAQ: How do I master reset my Edge 500? The issue should be resolved after the master reset.

If there is activities you need to get off the Edge before the master reset see the FAQ: How do I manually upload data from USB devices to Garmin Connect?

I have done the master reset as described in the link but I still get the same error when I attempt to use Garmin Express.

Any other suggestions?

I am sorry for the troubles. I can only suggest now that you contact us by phone at 800.800.1020 M-Th 8am-6pm and Fri 8am-5pm CST. There could be a couple other issues that simply cannot be effectively covered on a forum unless you have extensive knowledge of the Windows operating system and how it works.

Hi,

Just an update, I have tried it successfully on two other computers so it appears to be a problem with a particular computers, I haven't worked out what that problem is, but the unit is working.
