Hi,

On my Forerunner 310xt I'm not able to download workouts from connect to device. They arrive in Express where they successfully download but syncing to device gives an error.

Device and express are in the latest version.

What did I try already ?
* send one workout
* send entire calendar ( I'm following a training plan)
* remove device and re-add in express
* remove device and re-add in connect
* uninstall garmin software and start over

Nothing worked ...
  • If you recently switched to Garmin Express from the Garmin ANT Agent please use the instructions below to clean up the ANT data. Also, login to Connect Modern view, click on the Sync icon and remove any pending sync items.

    1. Delete the contents of the C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devic es\
    1. Press the Windows Key + R key together
    2. Type this exactly, %Appdata%
    3. Click OK
    4. Open the Garmin folder
    5. Open the Devices folder
    6. Delete the numbered folder (unit id of the fitness device)

Return to the Training Plans menu and send to the FR 310XT again.

If you continue to have troubles please let us know when the last successful transfer to the device was and from which program, ANT Agent or Express.

Thanks for the detailed description. I had already tried something similar but did it again and no change.

No exactly sure because one of the step I tried was deleting all workouts on Connect and device. But I think that the last successful transfer was in March this year using ANT agent. I didn't use the "send to device" a lot before.
  • Have you tried switching ports of the ant stick? Also, have you tried recreating the workout? And are you using Modern, or Classic view?

I am having the same problem. I have a 405CX. I am using Internet Explorer 11. I have updated firmware on the device and I just installed Garmin Express in the last couple of days. Screwy things have been happing for the last week or so. Whenever I complete a workout my activities upload to Garmin Connect just fine. However, when I setup interval workouts in Garmin Connect and schedule them in my calendar they no longer upload to my Forerunner 405CX. I click on "Send workouts to device". These now show up in the Sync section on the left of Garmin Connect modern. Then I click Send Now. Garmin Express comes up and I click on Sync Now. It goes through its process and I get a message that Sync is successful but there are no Advanced Workouts on my device. This feature worked really well for a training plan I used for a marathon I completed back in April. I also used it successfully once last week. I think I used Firefox browser and it worked once and only once.

I have gone through the steps you mentioned above to delete the files. None of that worked. I don't get any error messages. In my case Garmin Express report Sync Successful and my 405CX reports Transfer Successful. The transfer process is abnormally short. Normally the process takes 30 seconds or more. Now it is completing the sync process in a few seconds (after Garmin Express finds my device).

Please help. I use the Advanced Workouts a lot to keep me on pace for my workouts. Thank you.

I have experienced this with my 405. I have been trying to test this, but it seems like it is just an intermittent issue. Sometimes it will act like it sends and then nothing happens. Then sometimes I just leave the 405 sitting there and walk away and when I come back the workout is now on the device. We haven't been able to pin the issue down as of yet. My suggestion would be to keep trying to send it as it eventually seems to go through. Leave express open, and the watch by the ANT stick and leave it a lone for a bit.

    Albert,

I've tried again with the stick in different ANT ports and a new workout. Still not working. I'm using the modern view.
  • Do you have a different computer to try? While I have seen this be an intermittent issue, I haven't seen one never go through without there being some other factor involved.
