Express does not download .tcx files to the PC anymore?

While using ANT-agent for the last 4 years, the .tcx file downloaded to the PC as well as uploaded to the Garmin server.
With the new Express software, the .tcx file is not located in C:\Users\MyUserNameHere\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\DeviceNumberHere\History, where all my other .tcx files are located from ANT-Agent. (Using win7)
Is Express not downloading the .tcx file to the PC anymore? If it still does, where is it now located?
  • Please see the FAQ: Why are my activities files not being stored on my computer once I have uploaded them to Garmin Connect using Garmin Express?

  • I'm using Garmin Express 3.2.17.0 with my Forerunner 310XT. When I follow the instructions above I only find the .FIT files in the specified folder.
The TXC files are not present. Is this normal?

The reason I want to access these files is to correct the invalid heart rate data peaks before uploading to Connect.

    Thanks in advance,
    Phil
  • No .fit files with GE. You'll need to download the .tcx from Garmin Communicator or get hold of Garmin Training Centre, import the .fit file and export as .tcx. And there's probably other tools out there too...

    Hello Phil,

I use a 310XT and decided to just ****can Express and reloaded ANT v2.3.4 because it works great and I get my TCX files loaded straight into the standard hidden folder.
I made a desktop shortcut to that hidden folder and manually upload straight from there into Garmin Connect, MapSource, BaseCamp, whatever I want.
I also use Training Center and of course the files go straight there automatically just like always.
No muss no fuss no problems and I have total control over my stuff. :)
  • Hi Don,

Thanks for your help. I think I'm going to have to do the same as you and go back to using Ant 2.3.4.
