Recently, my Garmin 1490LMT got updated from v6.1 to v6.2. The update went through successfully without a problem. However, after the update, when I try to use it, there is no voice guidance. Then I went to the setting. It is empty in Voice Guide, and also shows 'missing' in voice file in System Information. Can anyone help me on this? It sucks without the voice guidance. Thanks!
This is a known error in earlier versions of Express which deleted voice files inadvertently. To correct the issue:
Update Express to the latest version.
Run Express and under the Device tab navigate down to Optional Updates, Language Files. Select the ones you require, then choose them once you disconnect your nuvi. It'll be under Tools, Settings, Language
