I went on my first trip with My Garmin NUVI 2597LMT and it is now not recognized by my computer or Garmin express. When I first purchased the unit, I did an initial update. I was amazed at how well the unit worked on the trip. Returning home I plugged into the computer with Garmin Express, but now the NUVI will now not be recognized by the computer or allow for update. I have tried 3 Garmin devices that are recognized by the computer. I have tried different GARMIN cables and tried to see if another computer would recognize the device. I uninstalled, reinstalled Garmin express. I did a hard reset on the NUVI. When I plug the NUVI into the computer, I continue to receive a message, "the connected power cable is not compatible with traffic. Traffic service is disabled. Connect the correct power cable to receive traffic service." Please advise.
That error message though indicates that the device believes it's connected to a power source and not your PC, so concentrate on things like the cable and usb ports. Another possibility is that the socket on the device is faulty, if so it will need exchanging under warranty.
