Garmin 2460 does not recognize SD card or map install. out of memory on garmin

I attempted an update to my Garmin 2460 for USA full map. Everything went well until I tired to access the map on the Nuvi. It had DL'd but was not recognized by the 2460. IN checking the amp under tools, there are no entries. The manual suggested installing SD micro ship. Installed and dld map dl to card, Nuvi will not recognize map on card It does recognize the card under pictures as as a Put on pic on the card to check that. None of this has worked so far.

Own Nuvi 2460. No previous problems.

Are you using the latest version of Express? Or ... ??

yes - reinstalled Express when i did the DL

I downloaded current version of Express. Need list of steps (if possible) to either 1) delete current mapinstall and reinstall on unit or 2) get instructions to get Garmin unit to recognize map file (complete DL) on micro card.

Well if you're sure the map is on the card it should be listed under Settings, Map and Vehicles, myMaps ... Does it show there?

Does NOT show up in myMaps file in Tools

Then it's either not downloaded or it's corrupted. Try the download again.

I just downloaded the update file - complete file to the micro card after re-formatting the card and started th garmin and it still shows nothing imn the myMaps section under tools.

It sounds like you are trying to use MapInstall to install maps on the SD card? Please see the FAQs: Can I load maps directly to an SD card during a map update? and How do I reinstall maps or change coverage using Garmin Express? or Why won't the map update applications recognize the SD card?

You will want to reinstall the maps with the card in the Nuvi.

If the map is on a Garmin card then there is no installing to be done. Just insert the card into your nuvi.

When you do so you should see it listed in Settings, Map and Vehicles, myMaps

Where does the 'system says it's corrupted'? If it's a legitimate card it should be read fine by your nuvi.
