2 310XT, 2 Win 7 PCs: One sync's from 6 yards away...the other syncs when close by

I have 2 identical Garmin 310XT's purchased together very recently. Both have latest firmware v 4.5.

I have 2 win 7 PC's, both with Garmin Express (latest version 3.2.13) installed.

Now here is the issue I am struggling with when both Garmin's are being charged on one side of the room:

One pair 310XT/PC automatically starts sync as soon as I wake the PC up. The distance is about 6-7 yards.

The other pair 310XT/PC doesn't sync when I wake up the PC from the same 6-7 yards distance. I have to disconnect the Garmin from the charger and bring it within a yard, and SWITCH IT ON for it to start syncing.

Please advise why I am seeing different behaviors between these two (ostensibly identical) 310XT/PC pairs.

Thanks!
  • It very well could be one causing interference with the other. If you take one out of the room or turn it off does it make a difference?

    Trish,

Why would there be interference? Aren't each pair 'paired' exclusively?
  • They are... But what ExpressCustomerCare is alluding to is that the radio part is still a shared medium - so PC1/WatchA might be interfering with PC2/WatchB in radio terms so that communication doesn't establish.

Since neither PC can occupy the exact same physical space, nor each watch - there could also be "radio shadows" created that affect one pair but not the other - same as trying to tune in a radio station when shielded by a hill.

Tried that and, as suspected, did not work. Please advise.
