Garmin Express & Garmin Connect not syncing - Garmin Express says everything worked.

Hi,

I have just moved from using Garmin Express on my mac to on a PC. When I do the sync in Express it syncs correctly with my 405, but when I follow the link to view the data on Garmin Connect it isn't there. It's pretty infuriating, any ideas?

I've tried all of the usual approaches:

Restarting machine
Clearing cache in my Browser (Chrome)
tried another Browser (Firefox)

PC - Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Garmin Express - Ver 3.2.13.0
405CX - Ver 2.40

I can see the following other Garmin files installed:
Garmin Communicator Plugin x64 - 4.2.0
Garmin USB Drivers - 2.3.1.0

    If the data was successfully uploaded into Garmin Connect the data should be stored on your PC as well. The data can be found in the following folder location: C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GarminConnect\[Device]\Upload. If the data is there and you can see by the date/time stamp of the file then it did get uploaded to Garmin Connect. Express will only put the files in this location if they did indeed get uploaded to Connect.

    Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I followed the path (as best I could - it was slightly different) and can't find any mention of the device. If it isn't pulling up the info from the 405 but telling me that it is, what is the workaround?

    Attached some screens so you can see what I can see.

  • Your first screenshot indicates that you're looking in the wrong place. Mike gave you the right location above.

    You might have to follow the instructions at the bottom of this page to show hidden files and folders. Then you should see the hidden ProgramData folder.

    Ah. Didn't realise it was a hidden folder. Found it but there is no Connect folder. I've been through them all but can;t find anything similar. Garmin Connect is definitely installed and identifies my device in the browser.Thoughts?

    I'm having the same issue, and can find no such folder that Mike mentions. I unhid my folders and find C:\ProgramData\Garmin\ but nothing else.
  • If you were previously uploading data with the ANT Agent and had started having trouble after installing Garmin Express, delete the device from Express then clean up the left over ANT Agent data. Pair the device with Express again and your uploads should resume.

    Delete the contents of the C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devic es\
    1. Press the Windows Key + R key together
    2. Type this exactly, %Appdata%
    3. Click OK
    4. Open the Garmin folder
    5. Open the Devices folder
    6. Delete the numbered folder (unit id of the fitness device)


    Optional - Delete the contents of the LegacyProxy folder located in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\LegacyProxy folder
    1. Press the Windows Key + R key together
    2. Type this exactly, %Programdata%
    3. Click OK
    4. Open the Garmin folder
    5. Open the LegacyProxy folder
    6. Delete the numbered folder (unit id of the fitness device)


    3. Restart the computer

    4. Pair the device and creating a couple of short 1 min test activities.
