Garmin Express will not load activities from Edge 800

Since early June my activities have sometimes loaded and sometimes not in Garmin Connect. The really odd part is all the files load perfectly into RidewithGPS or Strava which both use the Garmin communicator to connect to the Edge. I cannot figure out why some activity files load fine and some don't. Since 1 June I have had 7 rides load perfect and 4 that will not load at all into Garmin Connect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Do you have the Edge 800 setup to save the activities to the internal memory or to an inserted microSD card? Do you use the device outdoors for every ride and press the LAP/RESET button to reset the device when finished? Are you using Garmin Express to Sync your device with Garmin Connect or uploading through the web browser? Please use the two FAQs to do some basic troubleshooting.

What should I do if I'm having issues with the Garmin Express client?

How do I manually upload data from USB devices to Garmin Connect?

Thanks and sorry for the delay but I was traveling the last few days. To answer your questions:
1. I use the internal memory.
2. I do use the device outdoors, but I do not think I have ever used the Lap/Reset button. Normally, I just stop the timer and typically shut off the unit after a ride.
3. I have deleted the device from Express as listed in the link and restarted the pc, but I get the same errors.
4. I tried manually uploading the missing files, but it also gives me errors.

I rode again today with the same results: the file will not load into Garmin Connect, but loaded just fine into Strava (which uses the Garmin Communicator plugin). I have had this unit since 2011 and never had any issues until the last month...

I appreciate any help or ideas...

Additional information:
After I loaded the rides from the Garmin into Strava, I exported the gpx files from Strave for each of the rides that will not upload into Garmin Connect. I then manually uploaded these Strava gpx files into Garmin Connect. It worked great with only the temperature and calorie information missing. However, I did notice an oddity in all these files!! My max cadence is being recorded in the >200 range. I would like to believe this 53 year old can turn a 53/11 at 200+, but that is not happening. :-)

When I manually upload the Strave file to Garmin Connect, the file loads just fine, but I cannot save any edits to event type, name, etc. until I change the max cadence to a more reasonable number (120ish). Could that be what is causing the error loading on some rides? Is so why, and better yet, why is my Garmin 800 suddenly coming up with a 200+ cadence???
