Garmin Express not installing on Win8.1 x64

Hi,

I decided to update my machine (Windows 8.1 x64) from the older Garmin Device Agent (if thats the correct name) to Garmin Express. I uninstalled the old Garmin software, but when I try to install the new Garmin Express, I accepts the T&Cs, but then the install fails almost immediately and just says "Failed. Try Again?".

I have searched around for solutions, but they mostly seem to be related to installing on either WinXP or Mac/Bootcamp.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the problem??

Hi SUSSAMB,

Thanks for the suggestion. I had already tried that unsuccessfully. However, the trick seems to be, when you click on the download link, click run instead of save (which is what I was originally doing). Then is seems to work.

The other post is not clear on that, so I thought I would post it here for others.

Yes, it's getting very strange. Some problems are resolved by downloading the exe file and right clicking it and then 'Run as Administrator', others by running from the website :confused:

Anyway, glad you're now up and running :)
