I am unable to install Garmin Express. I keep getting a popup that suggest turning off my firewall and disabling my proxy server. I have disabled the firewall and proxy sever is off. No change. ANyone have any suggestions? I am on windows 8.1.
Other things to try: Disable AV, connect by cable to router/modem if you were trying over wifi. Also Windows Defender can apparently cause issues.
How are you trying to install it? Try (if you're not) downloading the exe file to your PC, then right click the exe file and select Run as Administrator.
What you can try that may work around your connection issue is:
1. Press the Windows key+R
2. Type "services.msc" and press Enter
3. Locate and right-click Garmin Core Update Service
4. Click Properties
5. Click on Log On tab
6. Select This account
7. Type "Network Service" in the Account field
8. Remove all text from both password fields
9. Click Apply, then click OK on the next three prompts
10. Right-click Garmin Core Update Service and Click Stop
11. Right-click Garmin Core Update Service and Click Start
