I have had my device a little over a month. Following the usual update and activation procedures, its memory is now 94% full. The dealer (Halfords) thought I might have downloaded duplicate maps for Western Europe. The current maps on my device are:
Europe DEM
CN Europe NTU 2015.10 3D
CN Europe NTU 2015.10 ALL
Question 1. - have I got duplicated maps on my device and, if so, which one(s) should I remove?
Question 2. - if I do not have duplicated maps on my device, do I have to buy a memory card to ensure it continues to work?
Question 3. - my travel requirements are for the UK, Eire, Benelux, Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, Italy. Is it possible to remove maps for all the other countries, leaving just those I actually need, and, if so, how do I do this?
I have printed out and read the accompanying Manual for the device but it is quite unhelpful in some areas. For example under "Finding Recently Found Locations" the Manual states 'Select Where To? > Recent'. I cannot find a screen or page entitled 'Recent' and tapping the Menu doesn't provide a link to 'Recent' either. The same problem occurs under "Deleting a Saved Location" where the Manual says: 'Select Where To? > Saved'. Again I cannot find a page or screen entitled 'Saved' nor is there a link to 'Saved' on the Menu. This same problem affects "Assigning Categories to a Saved Location". Although I have saved 12 locations, I cannot go any further as the Manual's instructions state: 'Select Where To? > Saved' and, as stated above, I cannot find a link to or a page entitled 'Saved'.
I raised the above queries with Garmin via the email facility on the Garmin website on 8th June. I have had two partial replies from Garmin but have yet to receive a response that actually answers these questions. One reply suggested I remove various voice and icon files to free up memory which I did. However, I am still left with a memory that is 94% full.
Finally, I would like to group Favourites by country but have not yet found a way of doing this.
My PC is 64-bit and on Windows 7 Home Premium.
Thank you.
