I have Garmin Express installed on my desktop and my laptop, my GPSMap62stc will pair with both computers but my RV760LMT will only pair with the desktop and not the laptop. Every time I plug the USB cable from the RV760LMT into the laptop the USB connection crashes and I have to restart the laptop in order to reactivate the USB connection.
There could be a hardware conflict with the USB ports on your laptop. This is not always the case but can happen. In some instances some USB devices just don't play well with some mother boards. In situations like this it may just be that a driver update is needed. You might want to visit your laptops manufactures website and see if they have released any new drivers.
The other thing you could try is maybe updating the firmware of the RV760. I have checked the update changes to this device and I didn't see any power changes that were done but still you never know. On the 2nd computer where the device works, connect the RV760 and make sure it's up to date with the latest firmware using Garmin Express.
