Garmin Express always starts in the background

Hi,
Latest version of Garmin Express (3.2.8.0) has the bad habbit from running in the background, no matter if I want or not. The settings do not allow disabling the automatic start-up.
While I understand that some users may want to be notified about software or map updates, I don't want that. It is enough for me to start the software a few times per year and check if there are any updates available. There are so many programs that fight for the automatic startup - if I allowed all of them to run, when I don't need them, my computer will be as slow as a snail.

I tried stopping and disabling the service "Garmin Core Update Service", from Computer Management -Services, but it started again after I restarted the computer.
I found another place in Startup ("Express Tray") and I deleted the key HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and I hope it will not start anymore.

It would be nice if programmers offer the user the possibility to prevent the software from automatically starting up. Apart for this, I am happy with the way my Garmin Nuvi 52LM and Garmin Express work.

Regards,
Nick

The Garmin Express software is made to be ran as a service on the computer. I understand your request and at this time there is no real way as far as setting go to stop Garmin Express from being ran at boot up. If you do not want the Express software to run when the computer turns on you can disable it at startup using msconfig.
