Syncing workouts TO my ForeRunner 410

Former Member

Hello -

I recently updated to the latest version of Garmin Express (3.2.8.0). Activities are syncing wonderfully with Garmin Connect.

However, when I try to sync workouts TO my device, the workouts do not get transferred. I can initiate a sync from the Garmin Connect website, and the watch "successfully" syncs, but the workouts are not transferred.

I have:
1. Completed a master reset on my watch
2. cleared out the following folders:
%appdata%\garmin\devices
%programdata%\Garmin\LegacyProxy\
%programdata%\Garmin\Core Update Service\Sync\

Help!

Thanks,

With the Forerunner 620 you should use Connect Modern View. Does the Forerunner 620 show up in the Devices menu on the left? Are you trying to send to the device from both the Workouts page and the Calendar page? Are your web browsers up to date? What your describing sounds like an issue with the browser or its settings to handle JavaScript. Since the Send to Device window is essentially a Pop-Up window, check any software or extensions you have that may block these.

It seems whatever update for Garmin Connect happened between last post and now fixed my issue, I now get a pop-up for FF, IE, and Chrome.

I have the same issue with my FR405cx: no problem to send activities from my device to Connect, but impossible to send workouts, calendar or parameters from Connect to my device. It is stuck in the Queue and the sync doesn't take them into account.

For the "Send to device" button, I noticed that when you have special characters in the title of your workout (for ex: "!%), it doesn't work: you click on "send to device" and nothing happens! I mentioned this to the Garmin Support guy here in Belgium. Maybe it is corrected now.

I hope that the other issue of sending items to the device will be corrected very soon, it drives me crazy!!

Just kidding, it's broken again now with the same issue of scroll up/down when trying to send to device.

Same issue here. It is very frustrating.

I've tried to send an individual workout and the whole calender and it appears to me that when I click 'send to device' garmin connect is not communicating with garmin express.

If i sync the watch I can upload activities from the watch to connect, just not visa versa.

EDIT: Just downloaded Ant Agent and used that to send workouts and software updates with no issues at all (from classic view on connect). I use a 405cx.

    IE>internetoptions>security>trusted websites>websites. Add http:// garmin.connect.com
    Now sync is possible.
  • I´m actually facing the same problem as described before. My device is a Forerunner410, since two weeks ago the workouts sync is aborted as it starts.
Is there any fix or workarround to solve this problem? It´s really frustrating.
  • If the date/time/timezone is correct on the computer, and you have added trusted sites like roadrunner021 mentioned, I would suggest calling in so we can take a deeper look at the issue:

  • I´ve already *.garmin.com added to trusted sites and the problem persists. I´ve 'solved' it downloading and installing ANT+ Agent. I think the issue is clearly related to the current versión of Garmin Express agent.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I found this via google.

I had the same problem with a 410 and the new modern/express combination in sending workouts that I had scheduled in my calendar to my watch...

What worked for me (and YMMV) was to switch to classic view, go the calendar and send the workouts from there. Express then picked these up and transferred them successfully.

    Might be worth a try.
