Syncing workouts TO my ForeRunner 410

Former Member
Former Member
Hello -

I recently updated to the latest version of Garmin Express (3.2.8.0). Activities are syncing wonderfully with Garmin Connect.

However, when I try to sync workouts TO my device, the workouts do not get transferred. I can initiate a sync from the Garmin Connect website, and the watch "successfully" syncs, but the workouts are not transferred.

I have:
1. Completed a master reset on my watch
2. cleared out the following folders:
%appdata%\garmin\devices
%programdata%\Garmin\LegacyProxy\
%programdata%\Garmin\Core Update Service\Sync\

Help!

Thanks,

Geez just saw this thread, I had posted about this issue under the garmin connect fourm, but i'll post my issue here.

I have 1 computer and 2 watches, a 310xt (for me) and a 405cx (for my gf). Both watches sync activities just fine, but there are issues trying to upload workouts to them. the other day I was able to sync workouts to the 310xt, but I cannot sync workouts to the 405cx. It's driving me nuts, this is so frustrating... I've rebooted the computer, I've removed Express and reinstalled, I've removed the devices from Express and re-connected them. This is seriously frustrating!!!!!!!!!!

What I did notice, when I sent the workout from Garmin Connect to Express for my 310xt, I could see the workouts load up on the Express screen, under the details. but when I try to send the workouts from Garmin Connect to Express to my GF's 405cx, nothing happens. It appears Connect isn't sending anything to Express...
  • I also have the issue of sending workouts to my 410. I tried both sending multiple from the calendar and sending an individual workout. When Express opens it shows the workouts but nothing happens when it syncs. Express does upload my activities from the 410 to Connect.

Have you tried adding the workout to the calender before sending it to the device? There have been times when adding it to the calender has corrected this issue.

Yep, the issue is still occurring on all workouts to my 620 when trying w/ calendar
  • Are you using Modern view, or classic view? I have been unable to reproduce this issue as of yet and am trying to pin it down.

When I've created a workout and click 'send to device', in the 'classic' version of Garmin Connect, regardless of browser (Chrome, FF, IE) it scrolls all the way to the top. In 'modern' version of GC it scrolls all the way to the bottom. All 'send to device' does is scroll, it does not send to my device.

    Having same problem.

Was able to send one workout to the device (Garmin 220). Was glad to see it worked, so I created more workouts and now they will not send. Express shows they need to sync, I press Sync and it says it did sync sucessfully. But all the items are still in the express queue and not on the watch. Tried killing the process and trying again but it didnt work.

The main reason I got the 220 rather than a cheaper FR15 is the ability to send the watch workouts and calendars. Except it doesn't work! Very frustrating.

With the Forerunner 620 you should use Connect Modern View. Does the Forerunner 620 show up in the Devices menu on the left? Are you trying to send to the device from both the Workouts page and the Calendar page? Are your web browsers up to date? What your describing sounds like an issue with the browser or its settings to handle JavaScript. Since the Send to Device window is essentially a Pop-Up window, check any software or extensions you have that may block these.

I have the same problem but with the 220.

I tried doing it from chrome and ie browsers, both up to date
I tried syncing from the workout menu one at a time. Doesnt work
I tried deleting and re-adding the device in Express. Same problem

Workouts are queued in Connect, Express runs and Says successful; but nothing get sent to the watch. Workouts stay in the queue. How can this be escalated so we have a solution to this and so my device does what it is advertised to do? What other information do you need?

This behavior isn't consistent with all FR220s. I recommend you contact Product Support by phone at 800.800.1020 M-Th 8am-6pm and Fri 8am-5pm CST so they can take at look at your setup.

    I'm sorry for the troubles.

I'm having the same issue with a FR 405.
But in my case the Garmin Express does not show the workout to be transferred. GE is started by the Garmin Connect (using Firefox) does not seem to get the workout to be transferred
