Garmin Express doesn't want to sync file

And it keeps happening all the time randomly with some files. Today I had an bike activity lasting over 9 hours with bunch of data and now I can't get it to the Garmin Connect. Sync with Garmin Express gave weird results - I got one file which had 0.00 km and then the sync just stopped at some point (with that green bar still there). I closed Garmin Express and tried to do the manual upload with Garmin Connect but it keeps stuck at the beginning when I select "Upload all new activites". Why is Garmin software so buggy and customer support so poor?

Is there any way to get the data from the watch (Forerunner 910XT, I forgot to mention before)? Data is there, I can see all the information but can't get it to sync...

Really angry at Garmin and their ignorant behaviour, why aren't there any answers on this forum from their support?
  • If the problem is uploading see this FAQ http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={600f3dd0-3e6a-11dd-d7af-000000000000}&kbName=garmin

The issue is I can no longer sync my activities from my 910. I have done everything from changing back to ANT agent to a master reset of my watch. The picture shows what I get.
  • I'd still try the steps in the FAQ above to see if that helps.

I tried that multiple times. I went back and set up my ANT agent and it worked for one test activity.

And it's back to failing again.

I'm having the same problem. I noticed the data wouldn't upload immediately about two weeks ago, but it eventually arrived on Garmin Connect (I use Garmin Express) after the watch tried several times.. Today the data won't upload at all. The watch keeps trying to transfer the data, but Garmin Express reports a failure. Restarted my PC, removed the device from Garmin Express, with the idea of getting it to resync. Now Garmin Express can't 'see' the device at all and the watch isn't prompting to ask if I want to pair. Just keeps trying to transfer the data.

I had a similar problem with my 310xt which was eventually solved by a user, not Garmin support (who basically ignored everyone's cries for help). That time the problem seemed to be a corrupted data file. Once that was deleted, everything worked fine again.

Maybe Garmin support could actually offer us some advice this time?

I am having the same problem with my 310XT. I can't sync anything with garmin connect. Fortunately I keep an alternate record so I know some things.
  • I'm in the same boat with my 910xt. I have had a few successful attempts to get data to Garmin connect over the last few weeks, but the same problem keeps coming back, it tries to sync all of the activities on the watch, fails on each, and then starts over again. So frustrating for such an expensive device. I've wasted hours and hours on this.

I'm losing all faith in my Garmin products and can't believe that they release software like this on their customers.

  • If you were previously uploading data with the ANT Agent and had started having trouble after installing Garmin Express, delete the device from Express then clean up the left over ANT Agent data. Pair the device with Express again and your uploads should resume.

    1. Delete the contents of the C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devic es\
    1. Press the Windows Key + R key together
    2. Type this exactly, %Appdata%
    3. Click OK
    4. Open the Garmin folder
    5. Open the Devices folder
    6. Delete the numbered folder (unit id of the fitness device)

    2. Delete the contents of the LegacyProxy folder located in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\LegacyProxy folder
    1. Press the Windows Key + R key together
    2. Type this exactly, %Programdata%
    3. Click OK
    4. Open the Garmin folder
    5. Open the LegacyProxy folder
    6. Delete the numbered folder (unit id of the fitness device)

    3. Restart the computer

    4. Pair the device and creating a couple of short 1 min test activities.

If you continue to have troubles I suggest you contact us by phone: http://www.garmin.com/us/support/
