Unable to dowload maps to PC with Garmin Express - file size error

Hi, I'm hoping someone is able to help with my problem.

I have just updated my Zumo 550 with the latest maps for UK and Europe from a PC running XP and have so far managed to get around the issues with windows installer 4.5 and the insufficient space on the Zumo for the full map set. I'm now trying to download the maps onto the PC but it sits at 99% for ages before finally failing with a "there's been an error" type message.

What I have found in the core services log file is that the two files USB_16.msi and USB_32.msi are being downloaded and then failing verification with a wrong file size error. The files are then deleted and re-downloaded with the same problem and it just cycles around around until it gives up, here's an example the log:

The log file gives the URLs of the download location and I have tried downloading the two files on a windows 7 PC and it still comes down with a size of 1408 for USB_32.msi and 1780 for USB_16.msi (it expects 1781) - anyone know how to get around this?

Thanks

easiest way to load any map updates or sort out basecamp problems is to ring +18001020 garmin usa support using skype. the calls are free plus you get to speak with a human being. if they cant sort out your problem they will pass you onto a software technician. calling garmin select options 2/1/2.
whenever i have a problem, every time maps are updated, i call them
    happy camping
