FR70 displays message "This device is not compatible with express"

Garmin Express was recently installed on my computer over Ant Agent. GE will not upload any activities from my FR70. When I deleted the device from GE with attempted to add it again, GE gives a message: Device Found, The device is not compatible with express.

Please advise with a solution to this issue. The current situation is unacceptable.

I am using GE 3.2.7.0 on Windows 8.1

  • Thanks for the reply... I have tried the instructions in the supplied link several times and I get the same results. I have also tried installing a new battery in the FR70.

To continue using the FR70, I must uninstall Garmin Express and re-install ANT Agent. Ant Agent is able to upload activities with no issues. Because of this, I am confident that the FR70 and Ant Stick are working properly. For what it is worth, Garmin express is also able to detect the FR70 through the Ant Stick. However, it is unable to obtain any information from the device. This is the reason that I believe that Garmin Express displays the message telling me that the FR70 is not compatible.

Is it possible that Ant Agent is somehow interfering with Garmin Express' ability to recognize the FR70?

Please advise with a solution to this issue or at least something else to try. For example, is there perhaps some software other than Garmin Express that will allow uploads of activities from the FR70 and the Edge 800 to the modern version of Connect?

You have to have on your PC only a single Garmin software, either Ant Agent, that is Garmin Express, that is Garmin Training Center, if you have Ant Agent + an other one they interfere between them. I have the same problem in France. Sorry for my english.

I am also having this problem with my FR60, has anyone found a solution? Thanks
  • There are a few issues in this thread so saying you are having the 'same problem' doesn't tell the full story. Try explaining exactly what problem you're having, and what your set up is ... What OS? Are you using Express, if so which version, or Ant agent? Has anything ever worked in the past?

The op says it all. Please read fully if you want to be helpful. If not just don't post the unhelpful stuff like that! Thanks.
  • So you're using v3.2.7 of GE on Win 8.1 ?

In that case update GE, latest is v3.2.25 and try again.

Done that - no change! and Garmin support by email is not too helpful atm either.
