Try disabling you fire wall and proxy settings and open garmin express again. I have tried this turning of windows fire wall as well a my anti virus soft ware, even tried uninstalling the AV but still get the same message

its taken me 2 months to find how to make this new update work.... very poor support from Garmin, Mikes solution worked like a charm :)
Maybe Garmin should advertise this solution as im sure there must be others with the same problem.
    Thank you Mike
  • That advice has been around for a while, it's been a sticky since end July, so glad you've now found it and it worked for you.

Mine worked fine for 2 months. Since last week, I started to have the same problem: I could'n connect, same message about network/firewall etc issues. Disabling antivirus (AVG) and Windows firewall didn't work and at the end I found the solution in https://support.garmin.com/support/s...00000000000%7D.
It is just another stupid bug.
Never had problems with the ant+ and my old forerunner 405 and I'm starting to regret the choice of my 620 instead of going to Suunto.

Hi, this is the solution for Windows vista, in two languages: english - italian

    1. Press the Windows key+R - premi il tasto con il simbolo di windows ed il tasto "R"
    2. Type "services.msc" and press Enter - digita "services.msc" e premi "Invio"
    3. Locate and right-click Garmin Core Update Service - Cerca nella lista "Garmin Core Update Service" e cliccaci copra col tasto dx del mouse
    4. Click Properties - Seleziona "proprietà"
    5. Click on Log On tab - seleziona la scheda "connessioni"
    6. Select This account - spunta la casella Account
    7. Type "Network Service" in the Account field - come nome digita "Servizio di Rete"
    8. Remove all text from both password fields - cancella il contenuto nelle due righe "password"
    9. Click Apply, then click OK on the next three prompts - clicca "applica" e poi "OK" nelle finestre che si apriranno
  • That is a possible solution depending on what the problem is, it's not a universal solution.

Thanks from me too Mike. Chased it for a couple of hours and then found you fix. 5 minutes later I am downloading the map update. Well done.
  • We have released a new version of Garmin Express that prevents this issue from occurring. Please download the latest version of Garmin Express here:
