Edge 500 TWN was working with GE, now says it is incompatible with GE

Hi

I installed Garmin Express and it worked well with my Edge 500 TWN.
I then used GE to upgrade some software on the device (new GPS software plus new new time zone details).

After the upgrade, GE would no longer upload activities to Garmin Connect, even though GE was showing it as connected.

I followed the instructions from another thread which suggested disassociating the device from GE and then adding it back..,

So I disassociated the device. Now when I try to associate the device with GE, I am told that it is incompatible with GE.

Any way of getting sorted again?

I'm using GE 3.2.5.0
Edge 500 TWN with 3.10 firmware with GPS 2.60 (which is the latest firmware for TWN version)
Windows 8.
