What happens when you try to send the data through Garmin Express? Does the 310XT not get detected? Does Express see your device and start to upload but fails? I will need some more information to be able to better answer your question or investigate the issue. One thing you may want to check is what firmware Express is reporting you have.
To check the firmware of the device in Express :
1. Open Express
2. Click on the Device menu upper right
3. Locate software version. "Latest version of software 4.5"
If the software is reading 0.0 the 310XT may need to be Master reset.

I have both used a hard reset, uninstalled/reinstalled all possible softwares (express and ant) and cant even get my 310 to be recognized when its connected by USB. Hi mike, yes it detects my forerunner but when it tries to download it fails and just says retry and it goes no further than that. I have checked the software and i have the latest.
