910xt will not connect to Garmin Express

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can help.

I have been having major dramas connecting to Garmin express today. it will not sync with my 910. I updated GE to the latest version and ended up disconnecting my watch and trying to reconnect. I can get to the "enable pairing with GE" screen on the watch (not all the time) but that is far as it goes even when i select Yes. Usually at this point i get a transferring data screen on the watch and a sync unsuccessful notification on GE. None of my latest activities have been synced since this mess started - although that is only 2.

Have tried restarts on my watch as well as a full uninstall/reinstall of GE

  • I could not find the files in exactly the same location as was suggested but i deleted the whole folder C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\ and reinstalled GE with no change in the abillity (or lack there of) to connect

    Have put Garmin Ant agent back on to my laptop at home and it is working fine

    How do you put Garmin Agent back on? I've given up on GE. I don't have the file structure mentioned above on my Win 7 PC. It was working fine before GE was released.
  • I just did an unistall of GE and a google search for the latest Ant Agent and reinstalled that. I think it was from late 2013

    watch connected imediately but took a while to upload as it decided to upload every activity on the watch

    My Garmin Express continuously tries to sync my Forerunner 910 XT with Garmin Connect and always stops with an error "Sorry, we couldn't sync your device. Please try again." I tried uninstalling all Garmin software and reinstalled it with the same result. I should never have installed Garmin Express.

    Does Garmin employes ever read these threads????

    I am BEYOND angry with trying to pair my 910xt with garmin express. I have tried for months and used all the information from this thread and still nothing. In my opinion, this is not good customer service and this does not want me to purchase future products. So, for now I have reinstalled ANT Agent. At least I can see my workouts!

    The Sync errors could be files being sent to the 910XT from Connect. In Connect Modern View Check the Sync icon on the right. If there are any items listed, take note of what they are then use the (X) to Remove them.

    The files can also be manually deleted from the computer. This will help determine what items are causing the errors. In Garmin Express under the Sync Now button click More Options. This drop down menu will display what items from Connect are failing to Sync. Delete the files from the computer then click Sync again.

    PC Vista, 7, & 8 - C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\Core Update Service\Sync\UnitID of your device\Upload\FIT_TYPE_9
    Mac 10.7 and up - Machintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Express/RegisteredDevices/UnitID of your device/PendingSyncDownloads

    Delete the contents of the folder then try to Sync again.

    Since all of you probably have a slightly different set of circumstances this may help all of you or none. Generally removing a device then adding it back to Garmin will correct most sync errors but hopefully this extra step will get you back up an running.

    tried all that several days ago. The only thing that worked was to delete Garmin Express (tried reinstalling Garmin Express after a system reboot as well, that didn't do a thing either.)in its entirety and reinstall ant agent. Works fine now.

    having the same problems with garmin express keeps telling me that it cannot pair device its driving me nuts. I uninstalled it then reloaded it now it will find my device but still can't pair it. can I just go back to the old system that worked fine it seems to work alright with my wife's 610
  • I have found a solution to the problem of 910xt not syncing with Garmin Express:

    1 - Uninstall Garmin Express
    2 - Google Ant Agent
    3 - Install Ant Agent
    4 - Never install Garmin Express again
