New and help please on 3598

Hi to you all, I have defected from TomTom and purchased a Nuvi 3598 and I love it (only had it a day :-). I have loaded Garmin express no problems and the unit was updated accordingly. I have 2 questions, first the voice control does not work for find place etc saying "this function is not available in british english" although volume etc does. and secondly how do i do a master reset? the ones shown on you tube is for a pressure type screen and not glass

THank you, I have tried the reset however i cannot get it to work. The instructions seen compatible with a pressure type touch screen rather than the glass screen which does not use pressure. I have yet to try the voice link yet

It should still work, just touch the appropriate point on the screen.

British English is not a Text to Speech voice. Switch to a "Speaks Street Names" voice (Jill, Emily, Lee, etc.), then try Voice Control.

Welcome to the forum. If you read the link I posted you'll see it mentions the need to chose a TTS voice, as well as ensuring the correct mapset is being used :)

Just though for clarity ...

British English isn't a voice at all, it's a group of voices, see here https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId={09f23c50-d7a5-11df-c826-000000000000}

Some of these are TTS voices or, as in the newer devices such as the OPs, they are annotated 'says Garmin Real Directions'

Well I have tried again and no joy (not the end of the world though) I had a thought though, I only loaded western Europe map as the device said i had no room, could this be the problem? Is this what you refer to as "Mapset" SUSSAMB? Today i loaded just the UK to see if that works but still no joy. Oh and I still can't get the master set to work :-)

If you read the link it says you need the full original mapset. Voice recognition won't work otherwise as explained in the FAQ.

Just read that bit, sorry :-) so now i need to update my map to full Europe coverage. The only reason i don't have the full map loaded is because the device says i don't have enough memory space!! If i place an sd card in and reload the full map will this resolve the problem?

Ok just got a new Micro Sd card and it will not go in! its a standard 8gb Microsd from Sandisk any thoughts on why?? I can feel the spring load and the click but the card does not go all the way in
