cannot sync Garmin 610 via ANT with Garmin Express version 3.2.4.0

I have been having problems with the latest Express version. Ever since I downloaded, I cannot sync my Garmin 610 with ANT. I have deleted activity files, thinking one was corrupt, did a hard reset of the watch after deleting history, reinstalled the device and was on the Garmin help line with 3 technicians. No one could solve the problem and the think it is a issue with the latest version of Garmin Express (3.2.4.0).

I was told Garmin would contact me when they have worked out the bugs with the latest Garmin Express version 3.2.4.0. They downloaded my logs and spent time analyzing them--no luck. FRUSTRATING!

I was able to sync my 310XT once with 3.2.4.0, but now the sync button is greyed out, and it won't recognize that the device is connected.
  • ADMIN -- I didn't mention what platform I'm on which happens to be mac os x. Please then move this thread to the Garmin Express - Mac sub-forum.

Any news on this thread - as I have excactly the same problem!
Has anyone already found a solution for this or is Garmin involved in this anyway?
Does GARMIN respond to this - I guess it would be good for their reputation or do they only want to sell the device?
  • For me the problem got resolved after upgrading to Garmin Express v. 3.2.8.0 so I'm now able to sync my Garmin Swim again. And to be clear I'm on a Mac.
  • If you were previously uploading data with the ANT Agent and had started having trouble after installing Garmin Express, delete the device from Express then clean up the left over ANT Agent data. Pair the device with Express again and your uploads should resume.

    1. Delete the contents of the C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\

    • Press the Windows Key + R key together
    • Type this exactly, %Appdata%
    • Click OK
    • Open the Garmin folder
    • Open the Devices folder
    • Delete the numbered folder (unit id of the fitness device)

    2. Delete the contents of the LegacyProxy folder located in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\LegacyProxy folder

    • Press the Windows Key + R key together
    • Type this exactly, %Programdata%
    • Click OK
    • Open the Garmin folder
    • Open the LegacyProxy folder
    • Delete the numbered folder (unit id of the fitness device)

    3. Restart the computer

    4. Pair the device and creating a couple of short 1 min test activities.

If you continue to have troubles I suggest you contact us by phone: http://www.garmin.com/us/support/
