Garmin Express failed to sync with Fenix 2 (had error)

starting about two weeks ago Garmin Express is not syncing anymore with my Fenix 2.
It was working fine for some time and suddenly started to have strange error message that seems not related to Fenix 2.

The issue is with Garmin Express and Windows 7, the Garmin express see the Fenix 2 but reporting Sync error, in error details it says that the Ant+ was not detected, the device is connected via USB cable and not Ant+, and according to my knowledge it does not support Ant+ Sync with the computer.
I have also sent you support request on this issue more than a week ago and did not get any response yet.
  • 1. Use the instructions in the FAQ: What should I do if I'm having issues with the Garmin Express client? to delete the device from Garmin Express.

    2. Check the device for possible corrupt data.

    • Connect it to the computer
    • Open Computer or File Explorer
    • Open the Garmin drive
    • Open the Garmin folder
    • Open the Activity folder

In the Activity folder look for any file that is 1KB in size and delete it. Garmin Express should ignore corrupt files and upload the other valid activities in the folder but I worked with one fenix2 owner where one activity file less than 1KB in size interrupted the sync feature. Once that file was removed sync resumed.

    3. Add the device back to Garmin Express.
