Problems updating to CN NA 2015.10

Have a Zumo 550 went to update from 2014.40 to 2015.10 and Garmin Express (mewest version (3.2.4.0)
Constantly gives an ERROR when trying to update to GPS and,or pc.

Called support and found that there is a problem - just downloaded 3.2.4.0 and STILL ERROR,

Now I have NO MAP in my Zumo other than the basemap.

HELP!!!!!
  • Do you think, that the coming future map updates will include the gmapdem.img file, in order to put back this lost feature to those units which came with 3D terrain?
    None of the previous map update included, or changed the gmapdem.img file.


    I understand from other posts that if you now download the update the DEM map is not deleted, and if it has been and you redownload the DEM map is replaced. Equally if you backed up your maps just copy it from the backup.

    What makes you think it's a Garmin problem? Others are able to download 2015.10.

    Could you explain exactly what you're doing and when you get the error?

    What OS are you using?



    This is the only download problem I have with any software. Only the Garmin Express. And from searching the web I see lots of people who have problems downloading the 2015.10, so I'm no lone ranger here. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. When using Garmin Express it begins the download and about fifteen minutes into it, the download stops and and the message is "error downloading". I have disabled firewall and virus software during the download and still get the message. As far as what am I doing? I am simply using the Garmin Express to download the update. No other activity on the computer. See the image attached.

  • Yes, there were some issues but they've apparently now been resolved. Also folks often report issues downloading map updates, generally due to problems with their setup. As others are now able to download the update that is the most likely cause here.

    The situation you describe is possibly due to your USB port switching off ... does your PC go into 'sleep mode' after a certain period? Or do your USB ports get switched off? You may also want to run through the checks here:

    Thanks for replying so fast. My power settings are set to never go to sleep. I read over the link you posted and none of these apply. Also, I have tried Install To Device only; Install to Computer; and Install to Device and Computer, all to no avail.
  • Well then I think you'll need to wait until the Express team come along as I can't think of anything else. If necessary they'll be able to look at your account to see if there's anything wrong there.

    Is it possible that Express is downloading or installing a software update for the Nuvi in preparation for the actual map update and that is failing? Is there any updates listed in the Software Updates section under the Updates menu?

    Map Update:-Full Coverage Europe 2015.10.Running software version 8.20,using Garmin Express 3.2.4.0. Since doing update to the above Map update.My Garmin Express says map has been installed & if I want to reinstall,which I have done several times,but my satnav,under address search says " Map data is not available,Under settings MyMaps under settings theres no maps installed.I also last night did a download from the map data from Garmin map update web site,& it tells me that the map data is installedbut comes up with the same "Map data not available.This cost a lot of money 10 months ago,& now because of your latest update it has crashed my unit,ps:- I never had this problem with my Navman or TomTom units.before you ask I use good quality micro sd cards not cheap ones & checked the sd cards on my computer & garmin update has been installed on them,its not the machine it something in the software update.Can you help with this problem now I wish i did not do this update,because when I have done other updates its been ok & worked very well.Thankyou in advance for all your help in this maater & look forward to hearing from you in the near future.   • What GPS are you using? Please follow the FAQ here http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={8a5f1480-ddf1-11e2-7dd9-000000000000}&kbName=garmin to delete then reassociate your GPS with Express and then try again, report back if you still have issues.

    Hello again,

    The Unit is a Nuvi 2595 LMT.

    Already done the above listed on your link above but it was still the same thank you.
