Pairing is on, Ant is off. Express tries and tries to find to find the device and then suddenly when the device finds it and starts sending info, Express instantly pops up and says, "can't find it, sorry." Been happening for six months. Have tried deleting the device and re-pairing from scratch, uninstalling express and starting over. It's like a bad joke. What gives?
I'm dealing with the same issue trying to sync my 610. I can see 5 activities in Garmin Express sync screen. Four of the 5 show as "transferring" while one shows "Waiting to Transfer". Then they all die and it gives me "Sorry we couldn't sync your device. Please try again."
I, too, have uninstalled EVERYTHING multiple times and have currently reinstalled ONLY Garmin Express. Problem is the same as it has been...
Looking forward to whatever magic answer will get this resolved! Thank you!
If you were able to successfully pair the device and enter your username and password to sync with Garmin Connect but the actual sync process fails, this points toward some data corruption on the 610. A Master Reset on the 610 will remove this data along with all user data as well. This gives you a fresh device to start with.
If there is data on the device that you must do everything possible to upload, revert back to the ANT Agent just to see if the data will transfer. After that Master Reset the 610, remove the device and uninstall ANT Agent, then add it to Garmin Express.
How do I master reset my Forerunner 610, 210, or 110?
I've had the same problem and have tested a couple of versions now and have always needed to revert to ant agent. With ant there is no problem, but ant can't communicate with my 620. Can there be a data corruption, when it is always working with ant, but not with express?
Any data corruption would be on the device which the Master Reset will remove. When switching between the ANT and Express it is very important that you Remove the Device from ANT Before you uninstall it, then install Express.
So, after fighting with this for a while, I received a response from customer care that told me to uninstall and reinstall Garmin Express. Even though I'd already done it, I did it again and it still did not work. I now had 6 activities trying to sync. So I finally just decided to do a restore to factory settings on the watch. I uninstalled Express again, reinstalled it, did a master reset on the watch, and everything is now working as expected.
If you haven't tried that, I'd recommend it. It's worth a shot!
