Fenix2 cannot connect to Garmin Connect or Garmin Express

I don't know if anyone else has the issue but I cannot connect my Fenix2 to Garmin Connect of Garmin Express, they never find the device.
I can see the USB symbol on the Fenix2 but they don't find the device :(
They detect correctly my Edge 500, but not the Fenix2.

I'll appreciate any help.

  • Have you tried deleting then re-associating the device in Express? See this FAQ:

The trouble is that Garmin Express doesn't see the device even if it's connected through USB :(

Then try working through the steps in this FAQ

    Hi,

I followed the link and went into system report and finder preference as instructed (I'm running OSx 10.7.5 on a MacBook Air)
But to no avail. The mass storage doesn't show up in any case.

If neither one of the entries listed above is showing, then there may be a hardware problem, such as a bad cable, a bad USB port, the device is plugged into a USB hub, or one of the ports on the Mac keyboard.
The Fenix2 is brand new out of the box from today, the cable when connected to any of the two USB ports actually charges the watch's battery but that's where it stops.

Have you got any further instructions?

    Thanks

This is the PC thread not really the Mac section but since it's more of a connectivity issue you seem to be having no big deal. Express won't be able to detect the device if the Mac doesn't see it 1st. This is hardware related. This could just be a miss communication with the USB ports on your Mac and the Garmin Device. Try plugging the device into a different machine whether another Mac or a Windows PC. This can help see if there is an issue with the cable or the device itself.

This is kinda the same question is the Fenix 2 even being seen by your computer. The device should be shown as a mass storage device and have a drive letter assigned to it by your computer. Same thing applies here before we try and get Garmin Express to see the device to upload to Garmin Connect can your PC detect the device?
