New nuvi 2597LMT now has no maps on it

I received this as a gift with Australian and NZ Maps loaded on it with Lifetime updates, I have installed the Garmin Express and MapInstaller software, cannot seem to update the maps with the update that is available and now turning on the unit the AUstralia NZ maps preloaded have dissapeared from 'my maps'

Any advise? is it really this difficult to update this product? I have had a Garmin for years never updated , get the new one try to update and nothing seems to work.

Run Express again and see what it says. I assume this was a new gift and not second hand?

Guess you didn't back it up before attempting the update? Exactly where is Express failing? It's a bit difficult to help with limited information. Even more helpful would be a screenshot.

I strongly suggest once you have it working again that you do a full backup, including the hidden .system folder.
