Express incorrectly told me there was a new version of CN NA

Windows 7 Pro SP1
Express 3.1.7.0

Plugged in my Nuvi 1390 and Express told me there was a new version of CN NA available, 2014.40.

Problem is, I already had CN NA 2014.40 installed on the device. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying much attention and took Express' word for it and went through the entire download and install process anyway.

No harm done by doing so.

No harm, other than more than an hour wasted.

And a suggestion that there's something wrong with the software.

I am not sure why Express told you there was an update when your device was already on the latest version of maps. I have looked into this and haven't been able to reproduce this issue. At this time I am assuming when you open Express and check for update it will indicated "Your maps are up to date Full Coverage of North America 2014.40".

It's possible that the GarminDevice.xml file that contains all the data on your GPS didn't update properly when the map update was done previously. This however is just a speculation and as the update completed you shouldn't see this moving forward.
