I upgraded to the modern Garmin Connect and need Express to upload workouts from my Forerunner 220. Halfway through the initializing phase of the installation it stops and says "Failed.Try again?" it never works.
Dear Garmin People, PLEASE fix the install of Garmin express. You have sold a product to people who want to get out and run, ride and generally be active but this rubbish software keeps us sitting in front of a computer with a telephone stuck to our ears listening to someone who has no idea how to fix the problem. THIS is your fault it is your software that does not install you need to fix it. I am running an up to date high spec laptop with all software updated and Garmin is not installing. Like so many others I am frustrated with this junk software and with social media so readerly availably to tell the world how bad the service and software is it will not take long to knock huge chucks of your value should someone explain the problem. PLEASE fix this, get an engineer that knows what they are doing and get it done NOW
Ranting won't help. Express has always installed on my PCs and most others, some have issues which invariably is down to a problem with the users PC.
However there is an active Garmin team here. If you explain what device you have, what you've done, where it's failing and the error messages, if any, you're seeing they will be able to help.
I had a problem with the auto update Express tried to run. It kept failing to install. I found I had to go too http://garmin.com/express . Re-download the latest install executable, then run it. This seemed to make a clean install.
I solved my problem (see above) by doing a hard reset for my nuvi 3597LM. The instructions provided by Garmin are wrong though; there is a YouTube video showing how to do it. You power-on the device while pressing your thumb on the lower right-hand corner of the screen until prompted to do the reset; select "Yes" and it works. Now Garmin Express 3.2.17.0 detects it properly and updates OK.
Hi, I have similar problem on Vista SP2 driven computer. Garmin Express installation process got stuck just beyond the middle part. No error message appeared, just the message "Installing VisualCppRedistributablex86" was above progress bar for a long long time - nearly two hours. (I let it be for such a long time after several attempts.) Garmin support advised me to update win installer, which had been up to date before these attempts. Then I tried to go through this forum, but none of the advices have helped so far - .net framework repair nor this services cheat, which was probably meant for Win 7 only, because I did not have any Garmin core service in the list of services. Any help appreciated. The last but not least question. Is there any other possibility how to get the activities from FR910XT to Garmin connect except for Garmin Express?
I am unable to install garmin express on my windows 7 - 64 PC Each time I try to tick the "I accept the terms and conditions" the instalation freeze and I have a windows error message stating that "garmin express as stopped working" I have checked my net framework configuration adn I do have version 4.5.1 installed.
Any help would be appreciated as I can no longer connect my foruner 210 to the garmin connect site without garmin express software
I see no definitive working answer nor solution on this forum.
Is it a support forum or just a place where customer can explain their problems with no hopes for solution ?
I try the net framework repair tools with no luck I try to uninstall and re install the net framework, no luck, I send a message by e-mail 4 days ago to garmin support no answer so far...
So anoying being stuck with this lame software and no one from garmin that even try to help.
6 page of customer explaining their issue and just one post from garmin !
They can look into the specifics of your machine. Unfortunately occasionally some users, out of millions, have issues ... trying to diagnose these odd errors remotely without a detailed explanation of what's happening and with little knowledge of the PC set up is nigh on impossible.
