Problem installing a map for nuvi 3597LM

I have bought a City Navigator® Southeast Asia NT downloadable map. When I'm trying to download and install it using myGarmin/myMaps I see a button "add to device", then I see:

City Navigator® Southeast Asia NT (605MB) will be associated with the device below. Each download can only be associated with one device. nüvi 3597 - (325 MB available) Insufficient Space Software updated needed

I choose download to sd card, the system starts to work and sends software to device.

Next message: Software upgrade complete. Restart device.
1.Disconnect your device from your computer and allow it to restart itself.
2.When your device finishes restarting, turn it off.
3.Connect your device to the computer again.
4.Wait 30 seconds.
5.Click Continue.

Done what it asks - nothing happens. No self restart. No update. Cant start downloading the map.
When I try do connect the device again it all goes round but never actually updates the software.

Tried Garmin Express app, Webupdate both of them show software up to date. Also tried to clean up the space and choose internal memory instead of sd card. Tried different browsers, OS, checked firewall/antivirus. Still all the same problem. The device itself works ok - no failures or messages.

Will be thankful for any help and advice.

    I have tested the download with a 3597 and Southeast Asia mapping. The update does complete with the 3597. What may be happening is that the device's XML file may not be updating correctly. Have you tried turning of the 3597 and turning it back on? This can sometimes help update the XML file so the website can see the firmware update changes took effect.

    What you may also want to do is try a different web browser. The reason for this is that there could be some script running on the current browser you are using that is interfering with the communication to the device.

    The last thing you can try is Master Resetting your device. To reset the device use the following FAQ:

    Garmin Express is responsible for updating the system software and preloaded Europe mapping on the Nuvi. If Garmin Express says the device is up to date then both these items are up to date. If your web browser continues to prompt you to update the system software during the Southeast Asia download then clear out your web browser cache.     You can also check the system software version on the device itself. The current system software version is 4.20. See FAQ: How do I know what version of system software I have on my nuvi or LIVE device?

    Clearing out your web browser cache should correct the problem you described.
