Warning ANT agent is blocking access for ANT devices. Please close Garmin ANT agent.

Does anyone know how to correct this?

"Warning ANT agent is blocking access for ANT devices. Please close Garmin ANT agent".

    Hi,

    I managed to get round this by opening task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL)

    When it opens use the processes tab to find ANT agent, click on this process and then click on end process button, say yes to the pop up message.

    That worked for me

    Hi I got the same error and then when open the processes and kill the ANT agent I get the following error message: It looks like there isn't an ANT Stick connected make sure your ANT Stick is plugged in to your computers USB port and try again. But the ANT stick is plugged in all I did was kill the AGENT as suggest above NOW what? when I have it running it complains that it's blocking Access and when it's not running it complains that there no ANT stick

    Has any one had this before and know how to fix it?

  • WMDONOVAN and DGHILLZA - The reason it says that there is no ANT stick detected when you close out of ANT Agent is because the Garmin Core Update Service still thinks the ANT Agent has control of the ANT stick until it's refreshed.

    The simplest way to prevent this conflict would be to uninstall ANT Agent from your computer. If you don't wish to uninstall it, you would need to exit ANT Agent and restart the Garmin Core Update Service.

    To restart the service:

    • Close out of Garmin Express and ANT Agent
    • Open Task Manager
    • Click the Services tab
    • Right-click the Garmin Core Update Service
    • Click Stop Service
    • Right-click Garmin Core Update Service again
    • Click Start Service
    • Open Garmin Express

    ANT Stick NOT plugged in to your computer USB port

    I had the same problem with garmin express, I tried a lot of things, and what worked for me was the following:

    Open control panel, go to the uninstall programs and uninstall everything related to garmin,(I had, garmin express, training center and garmin usb ports) restart you computer, download just the ANT AGENT software, run it and install it, let the ant agent recognize your device. Go to the task manager, end process of the ant agent, and now, install garmin express and everything should be fine. It worked for me pretty well, hope the some for you.

    Thank Sam! I am using both a Vivofit and Forerunner 405CX so have to keep both ANT Agent and Express installed and was running into this problem daily and was having to reboot my computer between uploading devices. Is there any time frame for when the 405CX will be supported by Express?
  • TWOMADDOGZ - Very soon! According to our developers, the Forerunner 405CX should be included in our mid-May update of Express.

    Hi, I have done what you advised Sam and also what Karl.Chubb suggested as I was getting the same message but now I get the message "Sorry we couldn't sync your device please try again". I have a brand new forerunner 910xt. Please advise, its so frustrating. I've spent hours on these forums and on customer support to no avail.

    Hi sam, does this also work on macs? i cant seem to figure it out on my macbook pro. I've only used my ANT stick once, and today the second time using it, its not working
