Garmin Express will not Initialise - Windows 7

Hi

I can download Garmin Express but when I go to run it it refuses to initialises - just hangs showing the initialisation bar (at zero).

Have tried multiple times, firewalls switched off etc.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Trying to use Garmin 810 for first time - not impressed with experience so far!

When Garmin Express installs it checks the Microsoft .NET Framework version installed on the computer then initiates an update if needed. By your description it sounds like the installation is stalling on updating Microsoft's .NET Framework. See the instructions in this FAQ:

What should I do if I encounter a Microsoft .NET Framework error while installing or using a Garmin application?

After running the .NET Framework Repair Tool try the install again.

I too have been trying for over an hour to install the Garmin Express. I have used the Microsoft. Net framework error and tried installing again, but it still says failed. I don't understand why this has to be so difficult in order to just update maps. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!

Well normally it isn't. Where is the install failing and with what error message?
