Hi everyone! I just got my Vivofit yesterday, but I can't start using it because whenever I try to pair it up with Garmin Express and connect to my account, I get the following error message: 'We're Sorry... There's a problem with our servers, which means Express is temporarily unavailable. We're working as fast as we can to get it back up and running. Please try again later.' Does anyone know if this is really a server issue or if I should just do something different? I read some threads suggesting that it might not always be a server issue. I already removed ANT Agent from my computer, but Garmin Communicator is still there. Could it be causing problems (or is it necessary while using Garmin Express)? Does the Vivofit only work with Garmin Express? I'd really like to get my Vivofit set up...
I am in Ottawa Canada and have been having the same issue. I cannot pair with it. I have tried creating a new account but still have been unsuccessful. I am new to the Garmin on line stuff, but if this is any indication of how it works, I think I may simply just keep my old method of longing my runs . I have a 310XT (have had it for a while and love it) . I just thought it may be nice to connect up with the Garmin connect site.
This is day 2 of trying to connect. very frustration . Hope this clears up soon.!! I don't know what else to do. I am not computer savy!!!
I have a new windows 8 PC (Garmin Express fit worked great on my windows 7 PC no problems) Garmin express it cannot connect to the server. tried changing the firewall settings, but it didn't work
Make than another dissatisfied use having all the same issues. Trying Garmin Express because the ANT agent software kept crashing, not allowing me to upload my data. Can't even upgrade to the new firmware as Garmin Connect won't recognize my device, thought then ANT agent finds it. Now getting the ominous "server unavailable" after a couple of days trying. Used to love everything Garmin I had. The past 6 mos of frustration with being unable to sync/analyze my data is fffffffrustrating.
Quick update. Just got off the phone with Cust Service and the Garmin Express Servers are fine. The issue for me was corrupt data on my device. I did a hard reset and I was able to logon to the server with my existing Garmin Connect ID. FWIW.
I have exactly the same problem for many weeks already.
My case is as follows : my GPSMAP62s is found and connected in Express but it still needs to be registered to use it on Garmin Connect. So, when I click the 'Register' button I'm asked to login to my account. That's where it goes wrong. I am trying weeks already but no result. The system keeps telling me that there is a problem with the server and Express is temporarily not available.
I read and checked all the possible solutions in these forums but it does not work for me. Many people keep complaining about this (both Mac and PC), so Garmin needs to investigate these issues seriously.
An issue with Express and the Forerunner 301 has been identified and should be corrected in a later version of Garmin Connect. I recommend that you upload your data to Garmin Connect Classic view so that a master reset can be performed on the the device. If there is a ton of old data on the device Express may have issues accepting it.
1. Sign in to Garmin Connect 2. Click the Profile icon on the left 3. Click Switch to Classic Temporarily 4. Click Upload 5. Click Upload new activities or Upload selected activities. Depending on the amount of data on the device you might have to try both methods.
Hi Edge 500 and 910 Forerunner. Both now will not up load since was asked by Garmin to update device driver software (GarminExpress). Garmin Express can see the devices but has continued every day for the last 2 weeks to give the error message there is a problem communicating with the server, try again later. How much later?? I have reinstalled the USB driver, and the Communicator plug-in. Switched off devices, turned off computer, uninstalled GarminExpress and reinstalled, unplugged ANT replugged, and tried on a different computer. There were no problems with either GPS before I unwittingly uploaded the GARMINExpress software. Is this some kind of virus software??
We aren't currently having any server problems. Follow the instructions in the article below to troubleshoot this issue: http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={dd8e8b20-ef1e-11e2-7dd9-000000000000}&kbName=garmin
