Garmin Communicator Plugin doesn't work with Garmin Express

I have a Garmin 310XT watch that I to track my exercise and import those activities into both Garmin Connect and RunKeeper.
The way I used to do this was with Garmin Ant Agent and Garmin Communicator Plugin.
- ANT Agent uploaded all my activities to Garmin Connect.
- Garmin Communicator Plugin discovered all those activities and allowed me to import them into Runkeeper.

Recently I discovered that Garmin Express was released which is supposed to be a one-stop-application for all my needs, allowing me to upload to [the new] Garmin Connect, update my firmware and other neat stuff.
However, after installing Garmin Express (and uninstalling Garmin ANT Agent) I noticed that Garmin Communicator Plugin no longer discovers these activities, I can only see the activities before Garmin Express was installed.
The activities still get imported into Garmin Connect, it's just that I no longer see those activities with Garmin Communicator Plugin.

Garmin Communicator Plugin - Version 4.1.0.0
Garmin 310XT - version 4.50
Garmin Express - version 3.0.7.0.

Same problem for me! Can no longer sync my device with Runkeeper. Such a shame that there was no warning about this before upgrading!

As far as I know, Garmin Express saves the .FIT file needed by the Plugin in a different folder in your PC, so the plugin doesn't find this files.
Hope a fix for this in the next release of the Plugin.

Hi,

Is there anyone that have heard if there is a solution for the problem above? I have tried to search but I cant find anything. Its kind of annoying that it doesnt work anymore. :)

I copied my activity from the new Garmin Express folder into the old Ant Agent folder for the plug-in to find it. Not an optimal solution, but it works.

Maybe as a temporary solution you could use a third party program to sync the folders.

I created a copy batch file on my desktop that seems to work. It contains a single line (Replace USERNAME with your user name on your computer and the ANT Device with the correct folder on your computer):
Copy /Y "C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\GarminConnect\Unknown ANT Device-3855910671\Upload\FIT_TYPE_4\*.*" "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\3855910671\Activities\*.FIT"

After running this, RunKeeper seems to find the new activities. Hopefully RunKeeper will also check the new folder soon.
