Garmin Express - Provide synch error message when more than 100 courses on device

I recently came across the problem that there is a hard limit of 100 courses on my Garmin Edge device - irrespective of available storage space.

Some minor searching indicates that this is a known problem, and affects many devices in the Garmin Edge range, including latest 10xx series.

Meanwhile Garmin Express - an otherwise effective synch mechanism - does not provide an error message when a synch would cause the 100 course limit to be exceeded, it just fails to synch.

That would be very easy to include into Garmin Express.

Has this been suggested before? Why has this not been included with Garmin Express?

(And while we are at it - surely this limit could be userfully included in the documentation for these devices).

  • Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. The documentation is there on our device spec pages. I've linked a comparison chart of our current Edge's here so you can see where it notes that for each device, along with the activity limitations.

As for this being suggested for Express, I am not seeing anything, but you can always submit that here for consideration: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/forms/ideas/

  • I have submitted the suggestion via the link you provided.

While you do have info on the website which document the maximum courses on device limit that information does not appear in the specific product document. For instance I just went through the Garmin Edge 850 PDF user manual - and I could not see any mention of that limit.

This seems to be an old issue - cannot understand why you cannot improve documentation - or remove the limit, which seems to have little logic to it.
