Windows 11 GE app can't be launched

Did everything and still nothing. When trying to launch the app a message writing that windows can't find the Garmin exe file on Apps files (x86). The exe file though is there....
Until a few days earlier the app was working smoothly. Presumably after the last update, there's been this issue. I don't know if it is Microsoft's or Garmin's issue but the app can't be launched even if the installation seems to be ok. 

Can you share a screenshot of the exact error message you are getting?

Of course. Here you are...There are in Green language but when I click the blue Garmin express launch button as you can imagine nothing happens and when I run as administrator the exe file the message that the express.exe doesn't exist on the relevant file. As you can check from the third image on the garmin installation file the exe is there...

Try launching it by double-clicking on the express.exe icon.  If that works, then create a new desktop shortcut to it and see that works.

You could might also check to insure the file permissions are OK.  Right click on the express.exe icon then select Properties.  Open the Security tab, click on your user in the upper pane then make sure there is a check mark on the "Read & execute" permission in the bottom pane.

Hi Peobody. Thanks for the suggestions but checking and doing all you mentioned, noooope, still the same windows message that the exe doesn't exist. One of the strangest issues I've come across. Everything on my pc working smoothly, only the garmin express is not working. 

If you run your PC as a user with standard privileges then continue reading, otherwise it is irrelevant. 

Below is a description of an approach that I had to use on my previous laptop (Win 10) and Garmin software, both Basecamp and Garmin Express.

I login to my computer as a user with standard privileges.  When I installed Garmin software as Administrator, it would not run when I was logged in, it would only run if I logged in as Administrator.  What I ended up doing was uninstalling it, temporarily updating my user privileges to administrator, installing the software while logged as me, testing it, then changing my user privileges back to standard user.  I had to do the user privilege change with each upgrade as well.  The odd thing is that yours once worked and now doesn't whereas in my case it never worked without doing the user privilege change for installations and upgrades.

It crossed my mind, i changed all Garmin exe file rights etc, uninstall, clear registry, install again but ends up what you mention on your last sentence..very frustrating 

Just a thought. I noticed on the third screen capture image that the "express" icon does not have an extension like the other files  have. maybe that's just an shortcut laying there. Right click on that file, select properties and look at the file size. On my computer with the latest version of express installed, the file size is 27.6 MB. If the  file size is very small, then it's not the Express executable file. If the file size is similar to the one on my computer, then right click the file and run it as an administrator and see what happens.
