can't manage music

Garmin Express 7.29, win11

cannot manage music (iTunes). I can see my iTunes music, but the pane below where it shows device music, nothing appears, however there is music on my watch and does play.

the checking capacity at the bottom never goes away

any help?

I uninstalled Garmin Express and reinstalled, didn't do anything. soft reboot fenix 7pro as well

    Since the capacity bar never finishes, that usually means Windows isn’t actually mounting the Fenix as a storage device. Garmin Express can’t read music until the watch shows up in File Explorer.

    Open File Explorer and look under This PC and make sure your Fenix 7 appears there. My Epix shows up immediately under “This PC,” and Express only works once Windows recognizes it.

    If it’s missing, try a different USB port, a different cable, or reconnect the watch until Windows mounts it. Express won’t populate the music pane until that happens.

    Thank you so much this fixed my problem, however...

    First, I tried a different cable and port and voila it was able to read the internal storage and allow me to transfer the music with iTunes that I've been wanting to add, but now when I unplug and plug back in the watch, I'm back to the same problem I had before, were Garmin Express is stuck reading storage and I cannot manage music.

    Maybe I'll try rebooting computer, or come back to this another day, for now I have put on the album I was wanting to put on and for that I am grateful for your help!!

    I recently got more music on my watch using a work around.  First of all, don't use kind of dock or usb hub, plug the cable directly into the PC or laptop.  If you have a port that isn't powered/doesn't charge, I would use that.  Next, you need Windows File Explorer to show the watch as a drive.  Once that happens, ignore the Garmin Express software.  Navigate to the music file on both the PC and the Watch, in two File Exlporer windows.  Copy the song files and playlist files you want onto the watch, in the directory that already has music.  This worked for me, even though I couldn't manage the music using the Garmin Express software.
