Generic Garmin Express icon in task bar since update 7.25.0+a13e85b4

Good afternoon,
Since I updated GE last Saturday, I no longer have the GE icon on my task bar (have a generic icon instead, see snaphsot). Please advise (although I'm owner/administrator of my own PC, I "don't have rights to modify code line "Background color" in express.manifest.xml as indicated in a closed 2019 post).

  • GE icon is normally placed on the desktop, is it showing there?

  • Assuming there is one on the desktop, but it does not match the one in the taskbar, right-click on the desktop one, select "Unpin from taskbar" then do this again and select "Pin to taskbar".  This toggle should fix the taskbar icon so that it matched the desktop one.  You didn't say what version of Windows you are running to be aware that you may have to do the right-click, then select "Show more options" in order to see the pin and unpin options.

  • No GE icon on the desktop, only a shortcut that I only could pin/unpin from the Start Menu. However, I did manage to change the icon from the properties of that shortcut, thank you (am running Win11 24H2 26100.4770 and GE 7.25.0+a13e85b4)
