Update BMW Navigator V

Trying to update BMW Navigator V on PC running Windows 10. I went to mtp and selected mass storage. I added a 32G micro sd card formatted to FAT 32. I either get a message telling me to insert the card (already inserted) or it gets stuck on Preparing Device for Map Update. What am I doing wrong?

I uninstalled everything and did what was described. During the “Preparing” phase, I get the prompt to insert a Micro SD card. I inserted a 32G card formatted to FAT 32. I get “Searching…” and then No Card found. I then uninstalled everything, reloaded Garmin Express, and connected the GPS. The card shows up in File Explorer as USB Drive E. Yet I still get the message in Garmin Express that no card is found when it is clearly there. Any thoughts?
