Cannot update garmin after failed update - help!

Updating my Garmin with Garmin Express, the update hung. I did the unthinkable and restarted the computer and now GE cannot find the Garmin. Its screen displays an unusual image.

That's a rather blurry image but it looks like the normal one. See this FAQ if Express cannot find your device

Thanks, found something online that said to press the power button on the back for 10-15 seconds to get a shutdown. On restart I was able to finish the job.
