the newest available maps 2025.20 are not loading

I tried to update the maps on my Zumo 660.

The newest available maps 2025.20 are not showing as a possible update.

I have a memory card of 32 GB installed, so space should not be the problem.

Anyone have a workaround of solution ?

  • Could it not be because the Garmin® zūmo® 660 is very old and may possibly not be eligible anymore for a new map upgrade? I see that the zūmo®  was released in October of 2009, and according to the Garmin map upgrade policy, it states:

"If you purchase a nüMaps Lifetime subscription (sold separately or bundled together with certain GPS models), you will receive map updates when and as such updates are made available on the Garmin website during the useful life of 1 compatible Garmin product or as long as Garmin receives map data from a third party supplier, whichever is shorter. A product’s “useful life” means the period during which the product (a) has sufficient memory capacity and other required technical capabilities to utilize current map data and (b) is capable of operating as intended without major repairs. A product will be deemed to be out of service and its useful life to be ended if no updates have been downloaded for such product for a period of 24 months or more."

  • Which map are you trying to update? If the CN EU map then your device is an old one that requires the NT map, I'm not sure there is a later NT version than 2025.10

  • It was the CN europe NT 2025.1 version that I was able to update last year July (if I remember correctly).
Are these maps only available for download only one time per year ?
If so, what month are they commonly put available ?
    Thanks for the reply.

  • Garmin halted development of City Navigator NT Europe, 2025.10 is the last one and devices that rely on the NT maps won't get updates anymore. Only devices that use NTU maps will continue to get map updates.

Also note that the Montana 700i and 750i shipped previously with NT maps, they will get NTU maps in the future.
