Garmin Express-When I try to open it, the logo shows up then it never loads

Everytime I try to double click, right click on garmin express icon and click open or click on the icon and press the enter key, the garmin express icon shows up then nothing happens. Checking my task manager shows that it is not running in the background.

Anyway you can help solve this? Are there logs I can share?

Try running the Microsoft .NET Framework Repair tool at .NET Framework Repair Tool.

Thank you! I just downloaded and tried to repair my .NET framework but at the very end it said:

"the tool is unable to resolve the installation issue on your computer. The following logs will be sent to Microsoft for further analysis" then a bunch of log, txt and regdumps were sent over.

Wonder if there is anything else available to resolve this?

You can download the various versions of .NET Framwork from .NET Framework foenload site.. Garmin Express uses one of the older versions and unfortunately I can’t tell you what that version is as I’m traveling with an iPad. What you might do is investigate your PC and see what versions are installed, then do a reinstall. It isn’t unusual to have several versions by the way.

What version Windows are you using?

Update, just downloaded this version as it was the latest and figured it's probably worth having as such:

However when I double click on it, the same thing happens, this shows up and then just goes away.

It is controversial as to what version of .NET Framework Garmin Express uses but a lot of agreement is on version 4.7.2 or later for Windows 11. Multiple versions of .NET Framework can be installed on a single Windows computer without conflict. If you have multiple versions of .NET Framework on your computer, chances are it’s because an application requires a specific version to function. "Officially" Garmin Express says NET Framework 4.7 or later is required. However, some users have reported that the software specifically asks for . NET Framework 4.5.

You can find your installed versions at C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework, at least that is the path for Windows 10. If you don't have one of the required versions, perhaps install it. Since .NET is a Windows component, make sure you reboot after each installation. .

I just noticed on the details of your O/S that you are running Windows 11 OS Version 10.0.22621. That dates from September 2022. Is there some reason you haven’t kept up to date on Windows updates? If not, perhaps do that first then pick up on some of my other recommendations.
